1,4-Butandioldiglycidylether wird zur Herstellung von Amylose, Xylan und Hydroxyethyl-Cellulose, zur Quervernetzung von Polyethylenimin, das auch als Lochblockschicht in organischen Solarzellen dient, zur Quervernetzung von Hyaluronsäure zu Hydrogelen und zur Aktivierung von löslichen Dextranpolymeren verwendet. Ist die am häufigsten verwendete homobifunktionale Epoxidverbindung

Wasserlöslich (55,6 g/l bei 20 °C).

Hinweise
Kühl lagern. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln. Bei Raumtemperatur lagern.
