Anwendungen
1-Hydroxymethyl-5,5-dimethylhydantoin wird als Chelator für lichtempfindliche pharmazeutische Wirkstoffe und als Rohstoff für wasserlösliche Polymere verwendet. Kann zudem als Rohstoff für Desinfektionsmittel und Konservierungsmittel sowie als löslicher Inhibitor für Proteine verwendet werden. Wird als Adjuvans bei der Bleichung von mit Lebensmitteln in Kontakt kommendem Recyclingpapier und -karton für Lebensmittelverpackungen verwendet.

Löslichkeit
Frei löslich in Ethanol.

Feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Von Oxidationsmitteln entfernt aufbewahren Kühl und trocken in einem gut versiegelten Behälter lagern.
