The primary use of nonanol is in the manufacture of artificial lemon oil. 1-Nonanol is mainly used in man-made rose essence, plasticizer, surfactant. 1-Nonanol was used as a reference material in the determination of airborne spore levels. 1-Nonanol inhibited the bacterial luciferase (BL) reaction in a dose-dependent manner.

Anwendungen
Nonanol wird primär in der Herstellung von künstlichem Zitronenöl verwendet. 1-Nonanol wird hauptsächlich für synthetische Rosenessenz, für Plastifizierer und Tenside verwendet. 1-Nonanol wurde als Referenzmaterial für die Bestimmung von Sporenkonzentrationen in der Luft verwendet. 1-Nonanol hemmte dosisabhängig die Reaktion von bakterieller Luciferase (BL).

Löslichkeit
Wasserlöslich (1 g/l) bei 20 °C, Ether, Ethanol, Aceton, Chloroform und Mineralöl.
