Anwendungen
Die Schiff-Basen (2-Benzoylpyridin) und Kupfer(II)-Komplexe zeigen moderate antimykotische Aktivitäten. 2-Benzoylpyridin ist ein aromatischer Substituent, der selektive wachstumshemmende Auswirkungen hat, wobei die Mehrheit eine größere antineoplastische Aktivität aufweist. Die Reaktion von 2-Benzoylpyridin N(4)-Phenyl-Thiosemicarbazon (HL) mit einer Vielzahl von Kupfersalzen ergab eine Reihe von Kupfer(II)-Komplexen des Typs [CuLX]. Komplexe von 2-Benzoylpyridin-Thiosemicarbazon (H2Bz4DH) sowie von dessen N(4)-Methyl (H2Bz4Me) und N(4)-Phenyl (H2Bz4Ph)-Analoga mit Eisen(II), Nickel(II) und Zink(II) wurden durch eine Vielzahl spektroskopischer Verfahren charakterisiert.

Löslich in Methanol. Nicht in Wasser löslich

Kühl lagern. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Von starken Oxidationsmitteln fernhalten.
