5-Fluororotische Säure, Monohydrat (5-FOA) hat sich zu einem wertvollen Werkzeug für die Forschung auf dem Gebiet der Molekulargenetik entwickelt und wurde bei der Selektion auf resistente Stämme von Saccharomyces cerevisiae eingesetzt, die ein mutiertes URA3-Gen besitzen, so dass die Decarboxylierung von Orotidin-5í-phosphat nicht mehr möglich ist.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Wasser, Dimethylsulfoxid, 50 mg in 1 ml (1:1 Ammoniumhydroxid:Wasser) bei sanfter Erwärmung.

Hinweise
