The sensitivity and specificity of each lot is confirmed using ELISA. Minimal cross-reactivity with mouse, rat, human, bovine, guinea pig, and donkey IgG is observed. Recombit rabbit polyclonal antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They are comprised of a selection of multiple different recombit monoclonal antibodies, providing the best of both worlds – the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity of monoclonal antibodies - all delivered with the consistency only found in a recombit antibody. While functionally the same as a polyclonal antibody – recognizing multiple epitope sites on the target and producing higher detection sensitivity for low abundance targets – a recombit rabbit polyclonal antibody has a known mixture of light and heavy chains. The exact population can be produced in every lot, circumventing the biological variability typically associated with polyclonal antibody production.

Superclonal™ secondary antibodies are developed to be highly specific for both heavy and light chains of IgG. Utilizing the power of recombit technology and multiple phenotypic screens, Superclonal™ antibodies are selected for enhanced specificity to the target species IgG. These recombit secondary antibodies show similar performance as traditional polyclonal secondary antibodies in common immunoassay applications, with minimal cross-reactivity to other commonly-used species. In addition, their recombit animal-free-origin helps ensures lot-to-lot consistency, reducing the need to optimize each lot in relevant assays.
