PA1-29512 detects MPR46 from mouse, human, rat samples. PA1-29512 has been successfully used in immunocytochemistry and Western blot applications. The PA1-29512 immunogen is: Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 60-114 of Human Mannose 6 Phospate Receptor. Store as concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), store at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20° C or below, avoiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

The protein encoded by this gene is a receptor for mannose-6-phosphate groups on lysosomal enzymes. The receptor forms a homodimer or homotetramer for intracellular targeting of lysosomal enzymes and export of newly synthesized lysosomal enzymes into the cell secretions. The receptor is an integral membrane protein which localizes to the trans-Golgi reticulum, endosomes, and the plasma membrane.
