The Mouse Interleukin-11(Ms IL-11) ELISA quantitates Ms IL-11 in mouse serum, plasma, or cell culture medium. The assay will exclusively recognize both natural and recombinant Ms IL-11. Principle of the method The Mouse IL-11 solid-phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) is designed to measure the amount of the target bound between a matched antibody pair. A target-specific antibody has been pre-coated in the wells of the supplied microplate. Samples, standards, or controls are then added into these wells and bind to the immobilized (capture) antibody. The sandwich is formed by the addition of the second (detector) antibody, a substrate solution is added that reacts with the enzyme-antibody-target complex to produce measurable signal. The intensity of this signal is directly proportional to the concentration of target present in the original specimen. Interleukin11 ist ein pleiotropes Zytokin, das von mesenchymal-abgeleiteten adhärenten Zellen produziert wird. IL11 teilt viele Funktionen von IL6 und LIF, einschließlich der Potenzierung der Megakaryozyt-Tätigkeit sowie der Verbesserung der menschlichen Myelomzellvermehrung und der hepatischen Produktion von akuten Phasenproteinen. Interleukin11 stimuliert direkt die Proliferation von hämatopoetischen Stammzellen und Megakaryocyte-Vorläuferzellen und induziert die Megakaryozyt-Reifung, was zu einer erhöhten Thrombozytenproduktion führt. Klinisch wird es eingesetzt, um eine schwere Thrombozytopenie zu verhindern und zur Verringerung des Bedarfs an Thrombozytentransfusion nach einer myelosuppressiven Chemotherapie.
