Mouse Monoclonal Antibody

1 μg/mL of MA5-45260 was sufficient for detection of Piccolo in 20 μg of rat brain tissue lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using goat IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects approximately 550kDa. No cross-reactivity to Bassoon.

The protein encoded by the PCLO gene is part of the presynaptic cytoskeletal matrix, which is involved in establishing active synaptic zones and in synaptic vesicle trafficking. Variations in this gene have been associated with bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
