Anwendungen(S)-(+)-α-Methoxy-α-(trifluormethyl)phenylacetylchlorid wird zur Herstellung natürlicher Produkte und Pheromone verwendet. Es wird auch als enantiomerenreines Derivatisierungsreagenz zur Bestimmung der enantiomeren Reinheit von Alkohol und Aminen mittels Gaschromatographie verwendet.
