1,3-Propanediol is used as a solvent for thin film preparations, in the production of polymers such as polytrimethylene terephthalate, adhesives, laminates, coatings, moldings, aliphatic polyesters, as an antifreeze and in wood paint. It also acts as a reagent for vinyl epoxide synthon, for epoxide ring-opening, for polymerization reactions and for natural product syntheses.

1,3-Propandiol wird als Lösungsmittel für Dünnschichtpräparate bei der Herstellung von Polymeren wie Polytrimethylenterephthalat, Klebstoffen, Laminaten, Beschichtungen, Formteilen, aliphatischen Polyestern, als Frostschutzmittel und in Holzfarbe verwendet. Dient auch als Reagenz für Vinyl-Epoxid-Synthon, für Epoxid-Ringöffnung, für Polymerisationsreaktionen und für natürliche Produktsynthesen.
Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit Wasser und Alkohol.
Hinweise
Nicht kompatibel mit sauren Chloriden, Säureanhydriden, Oxidationsmitteln, Chloroformiaten und Reduktionsmitteln.
