1-Chloro-2,4-dinitrobenzene is used as a reagent for the detection and determination of pyridine compounds. It has been used as alkylating agent to evaluate the depletion of intracellular erythrocyte glutathione (GSH). It is an irreversible inhibitor of human thioredoxin reductase.

Anwendungen
1-Chlor-2,4-Dinitrobenzol wird zum Nachweis und der Bestimmung von Pyridinverbindungen verwendet. Es wurde als Alkylierungsmittel verwendet, um den Abbau von intrazellulärem Erythrozyten-Glutathion (GSH) zu bewerten. Stellt ein irreversibler Inhibitor der humanen Thioredoxin-Reduktase dar.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Chloroform, Äther, heißem Alkohol und Benzol. Unlöslich in Wasser.

Hinweise
Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln und Ammoniak. Reagiert mit Hydrazinhydrat.
