Anwendungen
1H,1H,2H,2H-Perfluoroctanol wird zur Herstellung von fluoriertem aromatischem Diamin verwendet, indem es mit 2-(4-Nitro-phenoxy)-4-nitrophenol durch die Mitsunobu-Reaktion reagiert. Das Diamin reagiert dann mit Dianhydriden wie 4,4′-(Hexafluoroisopropyliden)diphthalsäureanhydrid (6FDA), Pyromellithsäuredianhydrid (PMDA) und Benzophenontetracarbonsäuredianhydrid (BTDA) zur Herstellung von Polyimiden.

Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit Chloroform und Methanol. Nicht mit Wasser mischbar.
