Dihydroxybenzoesäuren werden als Zwischenprodukte für Pharmazeutika und bei anderen organischen Synthesen verwendet. Wird als Matrix für die Ionisierung von Peptiden, Proteinen und Kohlenhydraten verwendet. Im industriellen Bereich für Harze, Polyester, Weichmacher, Farbstoffe, Konservierungsstoffe und Gummichemikalien. Es wird auch als ausgewähltes Phenol als Hemmer der MMP (Matrix Metalloproteinase) verwendet.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Wasser, Methanol und Dimethylsulfoxid.

Hinweise
Von starken Oxidationsmitteln fernhalten. Behälter dicht verschlossen halten. Kühl und trocken in einem gut versiegelten Behälter lagern.
