Beschreibung

2,5-Bis(5-tert-butyl-2-benzoxazolyl)thiophene is used as an optical brightener which converts UV light into visible light. It is also used as a fluorescent brightener for thermoplastic resins of polyvinyl chloride, acrylic resin, polyester fiber, paint, coating and printing ink. It is also useful in detecting the presence of thin-film electrical contact lubricants.

Anwendungen
2,5-Bis(5-tert-butyl-2-benzoxazolyl)thiophen wird als optischer Aufheller verwendet, der UV-Licht in sichtbares Licht umwandelt. Es wird auch als fluoreszierender Aufheller für thermoplastische Harze aus Polyvinylchlorid, Acrylharz, Polyesterfaser sowie für Farben, Beschichtungen und Druckfarben verwendet. Es ist auch nützlich, um das Vorhandensein von elektrischen Kontaktschmierstoffen mit dünnen Schichten zu erkennen.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Aceton und Toluol. Unlöslich in Wasser.
