2-Bromoisobutyric acid is used in the synthesis of dextran macroinitiator for atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) by partial esterification of hydroxyl group of the polysaccharide. The multifunctional silica colloids were prepared by coating them with 2-bromo-2-methylpropionic acid stabilized quantum dots.

Anwendungen
2-Bromoisobuttersäure wird bei der Synthese von Dextran-Makroinitiator für die Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization (ATRP) durch partielle Veresterung der Hydroxylgruppe des Polysaccharids verwendet. Löslich in Alkohol und Äther. Schwer in Wasser löslich.

Hinweise
Kühl lagern. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Basen.
