2-Nitrobenzenesulfonyl chloride acts as a reagent to form 2-nitrobenzenesulfonyl derivatives of alcohols and amines. It is also involved in the selective cleavage with thiophenol without displacement of the nitro group. Further, it is used in the preparation of renin inhibitors. In addition to this, it finds application as an anticonvulsant.

Anwendungen
2-Nitrobenzenesulfonylchlorid dient als Reagenz zur Bildung von 2-Nitrobenzensulfonylderivaten von Alkoholen und Aminen. Es ist auch an der selektiven Spaltung mit Thiophenol ohne Verdrängung der Nitrogruppe beteiligt. Darüber hinaus wird es bei der Herstellung von Renin-Inhibitoren verwendet. Und es findet Anwendung als Antikonvulsiva.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Toluol, Tetrahydrofuran, Methylenchlorid, Ethylacetat und Dimethylformamid. Nicht in Wasser löslich.

Hinweise
Feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln und starken Basen.
