(2R,3R)-(-)-2,3-Butanediol is used as a chiral auxiliary, chiral ligand and building block. Cyclocondenses with ketones for (13)C NMR determination of optical purity. It is used in the resolution of carbonyl compounds in gas chromatography.

Anwendungen
(2R,3R)-(-)-2,3-Butandiol wird als chirales Hilfsmittel, chiraler Ligand und Baustein verwendet. Cyclokondensation mit Ketonen zur Bestimmung der optischen Reinheit mittels (13)C NMR. Es wird bei der Auflösung von Carbonylverbindungen in der Gaschromatographie verwendet.

Hygroskopisch. Von Oxidationsmitteln entfernt aufbewahren Nicht kompatibel mit Oxidationsmitteln, Säurechloriden, Säureanhydriden, Chloroformaten und Reduktionsmitteln. Luftempfindlich.
