3,5-Dimethyl-1H-pyrazole is combined with Chromium(VI)­ oxide, is a valuable reagent for oxidation of primary and secondary alcohols to carbonyl compounds. It reacts with malonic esters gives a family of cross-conjugated monomeric betaines. It is a common reagent for the preparation of pyrazolato ligated complexes. It is also used to prepare N-1-substituted derivatives having antibacterial activity.

Anwendungen
3,5-Dimethyl-1H-pyrazol wird mit Chrom(VI)-oxid kombiniert und ist ein wertvolles Reagenz für die Oxidation von Primär- und Sekundäralkoholen zu Carbonylverbindungen. Es reagiert mit malonischen Estern und ergibt eine Familie von kreuzkonjugierten monomeren Betainen. Es ist ein häufiges Reagenz für die Herstellung von Pyrazolato-ligierten Komplexen. Es wird auch zur Herstellung von N-1-substituierten Derivaten mit antibakterieller Aktivität verwendet.
