Anwendungen
3-Phenyl-1-Propanol hat einen natürlichen Duft mit antimikrobiellen Eigenschaften gegen Bakterien und Schimmelpilze. Wird in Kombination mit Heliotropin oder Piperonal als Konservierungsmittel für kosmetische Produkte verwendet. Die Esterderivate werden wegen des balsamischen Geruchscharakters als Duftkomponente in frischen Blumenkompositionen wie Flieder, Hyazinthe und Maiglöckchen verwendet. Ist auch eine nützliche biochemische Methode für die Proteomikforschung.

Nicht mit Wasser mischbar.
