5-Brom-5-nitro-1,3-dioxan wird als Stabilisator und Konservierungsmittel für biologische Moleküle und Lösungen wie Antikörper und Antiseren verwendet. Bronidox wird in vielen Spülkosmetikprodukten eingesetzt. Es kann allein oder in Kombination mit Methylisothiazolon verwendet werden.
