Alcian Blue 8GX is widely utilized as a heteroglycan stain for acidic, neutral, sulfated and phosphate polysaccharides and glycosaminoglycans in tissues. It finds application in both light and electron microscopy. It serves as an adhesive to stick glycol methacrylate sections to glass slides. Due to its large aromatic surface, it is used as a coating agent and modifies the property on the surfaces. It acts as a gelling agent for lubricating fluids and is also used in the modification of carbon paste electrode which promotes redox behavior and stability of electrode.

Anwendungen
Alcianblau 8GX wird häufig als Heteroglykanfärbemittel für saure, neutrale, sulfatierte und phosphathaltige Polysaccharide und Glykosaminoglykane in Geweben eingesetzt. Wird sowohl in der Licht- als auch in der Elektronenmikroskopie eingesetzt. Dient als Klebstoff, um Glykolmethacrylatschnitte auf Glasobjektträger zu kleben. Aufgrund seiner großen aromatischen Oberfläche wird es als Beschichtungsmittel verwendet und modifiziert die Eigenschaft auf den Oberflächen. Es dient als Geliermittel für Schmierflüssigkeiten und wird auch bei der Modifikation der Kohlepastenelektrode verwendet, was das Redox-Verhalten und die Stabilität der Elektrode fördert.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Wasser, Ethanol, Ethylenglycol und 2-Ethoxyethanol. Löslich in Xylol.

Hinweise
Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln.
