Es dient als pH-Indikator und zur Messung der Serumalbumin-Konzentrationen. Es wird als pH-Indikator (5,2 bis 6,8: gelb bis blauviolett) und auch bei der spektrophotometrischen Bestimmung von Serumalbumin verwendet.
