Butyraldehyde is used as an intermediate in the production of synthetic resins, rubber accelerators, tanning auxiliaries, perfumes, flavors, plasticizers and high molecular weight polymers. It acts as a chemical intermediate to prepare other chemicals such as 2-ethylhexanol, n-butanol, polyvinyl butyral (PVB), n-butyric acid and pharmaceuticals.

Butyraldehyd wird als Zwischenprodukt bei der Herstellung von synthetischen Harzen, Kautschukbeschleunigern, Gerbhilfsmitteln, Parfums, Aromen, Weichmachern und Polymeren mit hohem Molekulargewicht verwendet. Dient als chemisches Zwischenprodukt zur Herstellung anderer Chemikalien wie 2-Ethylhexanol, n-Butanol, Polyvinylbutyral (PVB), n-Butyrinsäure und Pharmazeutika.
Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit Wasser, Ethanol, Äther, Ethylacetat, Aceton und Toluol.
Hinweise
Luftempfindlich. Kühl lagern. Nicht kompatibel mit Oxidationsmitteln, Reduktionsmitteln, starken Basen und Säuren.
