Calcium acetate hydrate is used as a precursor to produce calcium ions in the development of calcium oxide based mesoporous carbon dioxide sorbent. It is an active component of pyroligneous acid-modified limestone. It is employed in the preparation of magnetite-calcium phosphate core-shell nanoparticles. It serves as a raw material in the preparation of hydroxyapatite-wollastonite composites. Further, it acts as a crosslinking agent in the microfluidic production of alginate hydrogel microbeads. In addition to this, it is used to induce crystallization of proteins.

Anwendungen
Calciumacetathydrat wird als Vorläufer zur Herstellung von Calciumionen bei der Entwicklung von mesoporösem Kohlenstoffdioxid-Sorbens auf Calciumoxid-Basis verwendet. Dabei handelt es sich um einen aktiven Bestandteil von Holzessig-modifiziertem Kalkstein. Wird bei der Herstellung von Kernummantelungsnanopartikeln aus Magnetit-Calciumphosphat verwendet. Dient als Rohstoff bei der Herstellung von Hydroxyapatit-Wollastonite-Verbundwerkstoffen. Fungiert zudem als Vernetzer bei der mikrofluidischen Produktion von Alginat-Hydrogel-Mikrobeads. Wird darüber hinaus zur Kristallisation von Proteinen eingesetzt.
