Used to formulate CAPS buffer, a zwitterionic buffer useful in the range of pH 7.9-11.1. CAPS buffer is widely used in Western and immunoblotting experiments as well as protein sequencing and identification. Used in the electro transfer of proteins to PVDF (sc-3723) or nitrocellulose membranes (sc-3718, sc-3724). The high pH of this buffer makes it useful for the transfer of proteins with a pI > 8.5. and minimal reactivity with enzymes or proteins, minimal salt effects.

Anwendungen
Dient zur Formulierung von CAPS-Puffer, einem zwitterionischen Puffer, der im pH-Bereich 7.9–11.1 nützlich ist. CAPS-Puffer wird in Western und Immun-Blotting-Experimenten sowie in der Proteinsequenzierung und -identifizierung weit verbreitet eingesetzt. Wird für die Elektroübertragung von Proteinen auf PVDF (sc-3723) oder Nitrocellulosemembranen (sc-3718, sc-3724) verwendet. Der hohe pH-Wert dieses Puffers ist der Grund für seine Nützlichkeit für den Transfer von Proteinen mit einem pI>8.5. Minimale Reaktivität mit Enzymen oder Proteinen, minimale Salzeffekte.

Löslichkeit
Hochwasserlöslich (100 g/l) bei 20 °C und Methanol (1 %).
