Reagent for detection of glycine in presence of other amino acids.Cyanuric chloride is a reagent used for the conversion of alcohols and carboxylic acids to alkyl chlorides and acid chlorides respectively. It acts as an intermediate to prepare dyestuffs, optical brighteners, tanning agents, UV-absorbing agent, softening agents and pharmaceuticals. It is also used as a precursor to dyes and crosslinking agents due to the presence of reactive chlorine atoms. It is used as a dehydrating agent as well as reacting with dimethylformamide to give Gold’s reagent, which is a versatile source of aminoalkylations and a precursor to heterocycles. Further, it is considered as an alternative to oxalyl chloride in the Swern oxidation. In addition to this, it is involved in the synthesis of adenosine receptor ligand.

Anwendungen
Reagenz für den Nachweis von Glycin in Gegenwart anderer Aminosäuren. Cyanurchlorid ist ein Reagenz zur Umwandlung von Alkoholen und Carbonsäuren in Alkylchloride bzw. Säurechloride. Dient als Zwischenprodukt zur Herstellung von Farbstoffen, optischen Aufhellern, Gerbstoffen, UV-absorbierenden Mitteln, Weichmachern und Pharmazeutika. Wird aufgrund des Vorhandenseins reaktiver Chloratome auch als Vorstufe zu Farbstoffen und Vernetzungsmitteln verwendet. Findet als Trocknungsmittel Anwendung und reagiert mit Dimethylformamid, um Gold's Reagent zu ergeben, das eine vielseitige Quelle für Aminoalkylierungen und eine Vorstufe von Heterozyklen ist. Gilt außerdem als Alternative zu Oxalylchlorid in der Swern-Oxidation. Ist darüber hinaus an der Synthese des Adenosinrezeptor-Liganden beteiligt.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Aceton, Diethylether, Dioxan, Chloroform, Tetrachlorkohlenstoff und Ketonen. Schwer löslich in Methanol. Unlöslich in kaltem Wasser.

Hinweise
Luft- und feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Kühl lagern. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln, starken Säuren, Alkoholen, Dimethylformamid, Aminen und Dimethylsulfoxid.
