Description

Cyclopentanone is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of rubber adhesives, synthetic resins, pharmaceuticals and biologically active compounds. It acts as precursor for the preparation of cyclopentamine and also pentethylcyclanone, cyclopentobarbital. It is a useful laboratory reagent and is used as thinner for epoxies. It can also be used as a solvent in paint and varnish removers and for electronic applications. As a dry cleaning agent, it is used for oil extraction. It is also involved in the preparation of cyclopentanone derivatives like cyclopenylamine and cyclopentanol which find application in the perfume industry.

Anwendungen
Cyclopentanon wird als Zwischenprodukt bei der Synthese von Gummiklebstoffen, synthetischen Harzen, Pharmazeutika und biologisch aktiven Substanzen verwendet. Es dient als Vorläufer bei der Herstellung von Cyclopentamin sowie Pentethylcyclanon und Cyclopentobarbital. Es ist ein nützliches Laborreagenz und wird als Verdünner für Epoxide verwendet. Es kann auch als Lösungsmittel für Farb- und Lackentferner und für elektronische Anwendungen eingesetzt werden. Als Trockenreinigungsmittel wird es für die Entfernung von Ölen verwendet. Zudem ist es an der Herstellung von Cyclopentanon-Derivaten wie Cyclopenylamin und Cyclopentanol beteiligt, die in der Parfümindustrie Anwendung finden.
