The bitterest compound knownDenatonium benzoate is used as an alcohol denaturant and flavor in pharmaceuticals. It is also used in antifreeze, nail biting preventions, respirator mask fit-testing, animal repellents, liquid soaps and shampoos. Further, it is used in air care products. It acts as H1 antihistamine. In addition to this, it is used as a disinfectant.

Die bitterste Verbindung, die als Denatoniumbenzoat bekannt ist, wird als Alkoholvergällungsmittel und Aroma in Pharmazeutika verwendet. Wird auch in Frostschutzmitteln, Vorbeugemaßnahmen gegen Nägelkauen, Atemschutzmaskenanpassungen, Tierabwehrmitteln, flüssigen Seifen und Shampoos verwendet. Wird darüber hinaus in Luftpflegeprodukten verwendet. Fungiert als H1-Antihistaminikum. Wird des Weiteren als Desinfektionsmittel verwendet.

Löslich in Isopropylalkohol, Methanol. Schwer löslich in Aceton. Unlöslich im Äther.
Hinweise
Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln. Feuchtigkeitsempfindlich.
