Dess Martin periodinane is used to oxidize primary alcohols to aldehydes and secondary alcohols to ketones. It is also used as an oxidant for complexes with multifunctional alcohols. It is actively involved in the oxidation of N-protected-amino alcohols without epimerization and allylic alcohols.

Anwendungen
Dess Martin-Periodinan wird verwendet, um primäre Alkohole zu Aldehyden und sekundäre Alkohole zu Ketonen zu oxidieren. Wird auch als Oxidationsmittel für Komplexe mit multifunktionalen Alkoholen verwendet. Ist aktiv an der Oxidation von N-geschützten Aminoalkoholen ohne Epimerisierung und Allylalkoholen beteiligt.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Chloroform, Aceton, Acetonitril und Methylenchlorid. Schwer löslich in Äther und Hexan.

Hinweise
Kühl lagern. Luft- und feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Reduktionsmitteln, brennbaren Materialien und Wasser.
