Diallyl sulfide is a modulator of drug metabolizing enzyme P450 system and inducer of the phase II detoxifying enzyme GST. Diallyl sulfide is also an inhibitor of CYP2E1 and believed to prevent chemically-induced carcinogenesis in many tissues. It is also used as a food additive. It is also used as an important raw material and intermediate used in organic Synthesis, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and dyestuff.

Anwendungen
Diallylsulfid agiert als Modulator für das Arzneimittel abbauende Enzym P450 und induziert das Phase-II-Entgiftungsenzym GST. Diallylsulfid hemmt zudem das Enzym CYP2E1 und verhindert vermutlich die chemisch induzierte Karzinogenese in vielen Gewebetypen. Es wird auch als Lebensmittelzusatzstoff verwendet. Er wird auch als wichtiger Rohstoff und Zwischenprodukt für die organische Synthese, Pharmazeutika, Agrochemikalien und Farbstoffe verwendet.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Alkohol, Chloroform, Ether und Tetrachlorkohlenstoff. Unlöslich in Wasser.

Hinweise
Kühl lagern. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Von Hitze und Oxidationsmitteln fernhalten. Stabil unter empfohlenen Lagerbedingungen.
