Diethylene glycol monoethyl ether has low setting point and low viscocity at low temperature so it is used in manufacturing brake fluid. It is used as a flow and gloss promoter in paint industries, in production of printing ink and as a cleaner in offset printing. Also used in textile as a solvent for dyestuff in the printing and dying of fiber & fabrics, in the production & wood preservaties.

Anwendungen
Diethylenglycol-Monoethylether hat einen niedrigen Einstellpunkt und eine niedrige Viskosität bei niedriger Temperatur, sodass es bei der Herstellung von Bremsflüssigkeit verwendet wird. Wird als Fluss- und Glanzpromotor in der Lackindustrie, bei der Herstellung von Druckfarbe und als Reiniger im Offset-Druck eingesetzt. Wird auch in Textilien als Lösungsmittel für Farbstoffe beim Drucken und Färben von Faserstoffen und Gewebe sowie in der Produktion und als Holzkonservierungsmittel verwendet.

Löslichkeit
Vollständig mit Wasser mischbar.

Hinweise
Es ist hygroskopisch. Nicht kompatibel mit Oxidationsmitteln.
