Lauroyl peroxide acts as a bleaching agent, drying agent for fats, oils and waxes. Further, it serves as a polymerization initiator as well as vulcanizing agent. In addition to this, it plays an important role for high-pressure polyethylene and food used in bleaching agent.

Anwendungen
Lauroylperoxid wirkt als Bleichmittel, Trockenmittel für Fette, Öle und Wachse. Dient darüber hinaus als Polymerisationsinitiator sowie Vulkanisationsmittel. Spielt außerdem eine wichtige Rolle für Hochdruckpolyethylen und Lebensmittel, die in Bleichmitteln verwendet werden.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Ölen und organischen Lösungsmitteln. Schwer löslich in Alkohol. Nicht in Wasser löslich.

Nicht kompatibel mit Säuren, Basen, Metallen, Reduktionsmitteln, pulverförmigen Metallen, starken Reduktionsmitteln und brennbaren Materialien.
