Dimethyl phthalate is used as a plasticizer, solvent, rubber coating agent, molding powder, finishing agent and intermediate. Further, it is used in solid rocket propellants, safety glass, lacquer coatings, adhesives and sealants, toner and colorant products.

Anwendungen
Dimethylphthalat wird als Weichmacher, Lösungsmittel, Gummibeschichtungsmittel, Spritzgießpulver, Mittel zur Oberflächenbehandlung und Zwischenprodukt verwendet. Darüber hinaus wird es in Feststoff-Raketenantrieben, Sicherheitsglas, Lackbeschichtungen, Klebstoffen und Dichtstoffen, Tonern und Farbstoffen eingesetzt.

Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit Alkohol, Ethanol, Ether, Benzol, Chloroform, Estern, Ketonen, organischen Lösungsmitteln und chlorierten Kohlenwasserstoffen. Leicht mischbar mit Tetrachlorkohlenstoff. Nicht mischbar mit Wasser, Petrolether und Paraffinkohlenwasserstoffen.

Hinweise
Nicht kompatibel mit Oxidationsmitteln und Säuren.
