Ethyl trifluoroacetate is used as an intermediate in organic synthesis to prepare organic fluorine compounds like 3-ethyl-1-methylimidazolium trifluoroacetate (EMITA). It is involved in the syntheses of various pharmaceutically active molecules and agricultural products. It is also useful for the preparation of tri fluoroacylated compounds.

Anwendungen
Ethyltrifluoracetat wird als Zwischenprodukt bei der organischen Synthese zur Herstellung organischer Fluorverbindungen wie 3-Ethyl-1-methylimidazolium-trifluoracetat (Emita) verwendet. Ist an der Synthese verschiedener pharmazeutisch aktiver Moleküle und verschiedener Produkte für die Landwirtschaftl beteiligt. Ist zudem bei der Herstellung von trifluoracylierten Verbindungen nützlich.

Löslichkeit
Leicht mit Wasser mischbar. Mischbar mit Chloroform und Methanol.

Hinweise
Feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Unverträglich mit starken Oxidationsmitteln, starken Basen und starken Säuren.
