Ethylene glycol-O,O'-bis(2-aminoethyl)-N,N,N',N'-tetraacetic acid is a chelating agent used for making complexes, especially for calcium ions, which help determine calcium in the presence of magnesium. It can be used experimentally for treating animals possessing cerium poisoning. It is useful in the separation of thorium from monazite. It also acts as a buffer and is used in protein purification.

Anwendungen
Ethylenglycol-O,O′-bis(2-aminoethyl)-N,N,N′,N′-tetraessigsäure ist ein Chelatbildner, der zur Herstellung von Komplexen, insbesondere für Calciumionen, verwendet wird, die bei Vorhandensein von Magnesium zur Bestimmung von Kalzium beitragen. Kann experimentell zur Behandlung von Tieren verwendet werden, die eine Cer-Vergiftung haben. Nützlich bei der Trennung von Thorium und Monazit. Dient auch als Puffer und wird bei der Proteinaufreinigung verwendet.

Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit 0.1 M-Natriumhydroxid-Lösung.

Hinweise
Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln, Alkali-, Alkali-Erdmetall und vielen reaktiven organischen und anorganischen Chemikalien.
