Formamide is used in the synthesis of medicine, animal glue and other organic compound. It is also used as a solvent which ionizes water-insoluble compounds. It is used as a softening agent for paper and fiber. It is widely used in the fields of the spice, dye, plastic as well as textile industries.

Anwendungen
Formamid wird in der medizinischen Synthese, in tierischem Leim und anderen organischen Verbindungen verwendet. Dient auch als Lösungsmittel, das wasserunlösliche Verbindungen ionisiert. Kommt als Weichmacher für Papier und Gewebe zum Einsatz. Wird in den Bereichen Gewürz, Farbstoff, Kunststoff sowie Textilindustrie weit verbreitet eingesetzt.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Wasser (20 mg/ml), Methanol, Ethanol und Aceton. Schwer löslich in Äther.

Hinweise
Hygroskopisch. Bei Raumtemperatur lagern. Von Wasser oder Feuchtigkeit fernhalten.
