Allgemeine Beschreibung

• Fumonisin ist ein Metabolit aus Pilzen und ein zelldurchlässiges Mykotoxin, das die Sphingolipid-Biosynthese durch Hemmung der Sphingosin-N-Acetyltransferase stoppen kann

Anwendungen

• Es kann die Sphingosin-N-Acyltransferase (Ceramid-Synthase) wirksam hemmen und so eine Anreicherung von Sphingoid-Basen verursachen

•Es ist zudem ein Inhibitor der Protein-Serin/Threonin-Phosphatase

• Es kann selektiv die Sphingomyelin-Biosynthese in neuronalen Zellen hemmen
