Iminoacetic acid is used as an inhibitor of bovine liver glutamate dehydrogenase. It is used as a reagent in the synthesis of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) microgel particles for metal affinity binding of peptides. It is mainly used for modulating peptide mobility by capillary electrophoresis. It is also used in chemotherapeutic treatment for metal poisoning. It acts as a tridendate ligand and forms metal complexes.

Iminoessigsäure wird als Inhibitor der Rinderleberglutamat-Dehydrogenase verwendet. Wird als Reagenz bei der Synthese von Poly-(N-Isopropylacrylamid) (PNIPAM) Mikrogelpartikeln zur Metallaffinitätsbindung von Peptiden verwendet. Wird hauptsächlich zur Modulierung der Peptidmobilität durch Kapillarelektrophorese verwendet. Wird auch in der chemotherapeutischen Behandlung bei Metallvergiftungen eingesetzt. Fungiert als Tridendatsligand und bildet Metallkomplexe.
Löslichkeit
Wasserlöslich. Nicht löslich in Ethanol.
Hinweise
Hygroskopisch. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln.
