Ideal geeignet für die Verwendung mit T7-Promoter-Expressionssystemen (z. B. pRSET, pCR™T7 und pET)

BL21(DE3)pLysS-Zellen tragen sowohl das DE3-Lysogen als auch das Plasmid pLysS. pLysS exprimiert konstitutiv niedrige T7-Lysozym-Konzentrationen, wodurch die basale Expression rekombinanter Gene durch Hemmung der Basalkonzentrationen der T7-RNA-Polymerase reduziert wird.
