Isobutanol is a reagent used in organic reactions. It is employed in the synthesis of new fluorinating reagents. It is also used in the lipase-catalyzed production of biodiesel as an energy source. It acts as a catalyst for the liquid-phase esterification of acetic acid by ion-exchange resins. Dehydration of fermented isobutanol is useful in the production of renewable chemicals and fuels.

Anwendungen
Isobutanol ist ein Reagenz, das in organischen Reaktionen verwendet wird. Wird bei der Synthese neuer fluorinierender Reagenzien verwendet. Kommt auch in der Lipase-katalysierten Produktion von Bjodiesel als Energiequelle zum Einsatz. Dient als Katalysator für die Flüssigphasenveresterung von Essigsäure durch Ionenaustauscherharze. Die Dehydrierung von fermentiertem Isobutanol ist bei der Herstellung von erneuerbaren Chemikalien und Kraftstoffen nützlich.

Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit Alkohol und Diethylether. Teilweise mit Wasser mischbar.

Hinweise
Alle Zündquellen vermeiden. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten.
