Description

Isoprene is used in to prepare synthetic version of natural rubber by polymerization using Ziegler catalysts. It is a basic building block for terpenes especially carotenes, terpenoids, retinol, vitamin-A and tocopherol (Vitamin-E). It finds applications in medical equipments, toys, baby bottle nipples, shoe soles, elastic films and threads for golf balls. Copolymer prepares in association with styrene is used in pressure sensitive adhesives.

Anwendungen
Isopren wird zur Herstellung von Synthesekautschuk durch Polymerisation mit Ziegler-Katalysatoren verwendet. Grundbaustein für Terpene, insbesondere Carotine, Terpenoide, Retinol, Vitamin A und Tocopherol (Vitamin E). Wird in medizinischer Ausstattung, Spielzeug, Trinksaugern für Babyflaschen, Schuhsohlen, elastischer Folie und Golfballfasern verwendet. Als Copolymer mit Styrol in Haftklebern enthalten.

Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit Ethanol, Ethylether, Alkohol, Aceton und Benzol. Nicht mit Wasser mischbar.

Hinweise
Kühl lagern. Nicht kompatibel mit Oxidationsmitteln, starken Basen, Ammoniak, Alkalimetallen, Alkoholen und Sauerstoff.
