Description
Itaconic acid is used in the preparation of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene and acrylate latexes. It is also used to prepare poly-itaconic acid, resins biofuel components and ionomer cements. It finds application in the textile, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. It is also used as an additive in fibers and ion exchange resins to increase abrasion, waterproofing, physical resistance, dying affinity and better duration. Further, it acts as a co-monomer used in the preparation of acrylic fibers and rubbers, reinforced glass fiber, artificial diamonds and lens. In addition to this, it acts as a binder and sizing agent in non-weaving fibers.

Itaconsäure wird bei der Herstellung von Acrylnitril-Butadien-Styrol und Acrylatlatexen verwendet. Wird auch zur Herstellung von Poly-Itaconsäure, Harzen Biokraftstoffkomponenten und Ionomer-Zementen verwendet. Findet Anwendung in der Textil-, Chemie- und Pharmaindustrie. Wird auch als Additiv in Fasern und Ionenaustauschharzen verwendet, um Abrieb, Abdichtung, physikalische Beständigkeit, Sterbeaffinität und bessere Dauer zu erhöhen. Fungiert darüber hinaus als Co-Monomer, das bei der Herstellung von Acrylfasern und -kautschuken, verstärkter Glasfaser, künstlichen Diamanten und Linsen verwendet wird. Fungiert darüber hinaus als Bindemittel und Leimungsmittel in Nicht-Webfasern.
Löslichkeit
Löslich in Wasser, Aceton, Methanol, Hexan und Ethanol. Schwer löslich in Benzol, Chloroform, Kohlenstoffdisulfid und Petrolether.
Hinweise
Hygroskopisch. Feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Nicht kompatibel mit Basen, Oxidationsmitteln und Reduktionsmitteln.
