Lanthanum trifluoromethanesulfonate is used in the Aldol reaction of silyl enol ethers with aldehydes. It is an effective catalyst for the Baylis-Hillman reaction. It also catalyzes Michael additions to methyl vinyl ketone in water.

Anwendungen
Lanthan-Trifluormethansulfonat wird bei der Aldol-Reaktion von Silylenolethern mit Aldehyden eingesetzt. Ein effektiver Katalysator für die Baylis-Hillman-Reaktion. Katalysiert auch Michael Zusätze zu Methylvinylketon in Wasser.

Den Behälter dicht verschlossen halten. In gut versiegelten Behältern kühl und trocken lagern. Nicht kompatibel mit Basen. Es ist von Natur aus hygroskopisch. Unter trockenem Inertgas lagern.
