Beschreibung

Hemmt trypsin-ähnliche Proteasen und einige Cystein-Proteasen. MP Biomedicals' Leupeptin ist ein modifizierter Tripeptid-reversibler Protease-Inhibitor. Gegen Pepsin, die Cathepsine A und D sowie Alpha-Chymotrypsin wird eine geringe bis keine Hemmung beobachtet.

Bei der Anpassung an die Molarität sind alle drei Salzformen gleich wirksam; das Hydrochloridsalz ist jedoch in biologischen Umfeldern in der Regel weniger invasiv.

Hemmt Trypsin-ähnliche Proteasen und einige Cystein-Proteasen, darunter: Endoproteinase Lys-C, Kallikrein, Papain, Thrombin, Cathepsin B, die Cathepsine H und L, Trypsin, Calpain, Trypsin8 und Plasmin.
