Allgemeine Beschreibung

• Melatonin ist ein von der Zirbeldrüse ausgeschüttetes Hormon, das mehrere biologische Abläufe beeinflusst wie z. B Schläfrigkeit, Schlaf-Wach-Zyklus, zirkadianer Rhythmus, Stressreaktion, Alterungs- und Immunitätsaktivitäten.

•Es zeigt antioxidative, autokuide, paracoide, hormonelle, entzündungshemmende und antiapoptotische Wirkungen.

Anwendungen

• Melatonin zeigt eine neurohormonale Wirkung und kann antioxidative Enzyme aufwerten sowie Ratten-NOS1 hemmen.

•Melatonin wurde als Aktivator von MEL-1A-R und MEL-1B-R gemeldet.

•Bildung und Ausschüttung von Melatonin sind von der beta-adrenerge Rezeptorfunktion abhängig.

•Bei der Melatoninsynthese wird die essentielle Aminosäure L-Tryptophan als Vorstufe verwendet.

•Diese Verbindung hemmt die Apoptose in Immunzellen und Neuronen und verbessert den apoptotischen Zelltod von Krebszellen

• Sie kann die Proliferation und Metastasierung von Brustkrebszellen hemmen, indem sie die Rho-assoziierte Kinase-Protein-1-Expression moduliert
