Description
Transferrin is a 77kDa plasma glycoprotein with the capacity to bind ferric ions and as such is a source of bio-available iron. The product is frequently used as a nutrient in cell and microbial culture and as a media supplement in the production of bio-pharmaceutical products. Transferrin has also been shown to function as a factor in the growth stimulation of many cell types, such as granulocytes, macrophages and endothelial cells. Chromatographically purified.
