N-Allylthioharnstoff ist ein Nitrifikationshemmer, der in Untersuchungen zur Transformation von Diclofenac, Naproxen und Bisoprolol unter aeroben und anaeroben Bedingungen verwendet wird. Es wird auch in der Medizin verwendet, um Narbengewebe zu minimieren und einen Dermatitis-Typ zu behandeln. Darüber hinaus hemmt es das Wachstum von transplantierten Tumoren in Mäusen. Es fungiert als Chelatbildner. Außerdem wird es in Kosmetika, Konservierungsmitteln und in der organischen Synthese eingesetzt.

Löslich in Wasser und Alkohol. Schwer löslich in Diethylether. Unlöslich in Benzol.
