Nitrobenzene is used as a solvent and as a starting material in the organic synthesis for the preparation of aniline, benzidine, azobenzene, nitrosobenzene, phenylhydroxylamine and acetaminophen. It is also used as a solvent for electrophilic reagents in synthetic chemistry. Further, it is used to prevent the unpleasant odor in shoe, floor and metal polishes. It acts as a precursor to rubber chemicals, azo dyes and pharmaceuticals.

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. Anwendungen
Nitrobenzol wird als Lösungsmittel und als Ausgangsmaterial in der organischen Synthese zur Herstellung von Anilin, Benzidin, Azobenzol, Nitrosobenzol, Phenylhydroxylamin und Acetaminophen verwendet. Es wird auch als Lösungsmittel für elektrophile Reagenzien in der synthetischen Chemie verwendet. Darüber hinaus wird es verwendet, um den unangenehmen Geruch in Schuh-, Boden- und Metallpolituren zu verhindern. Es dient als Vorstufe zu Gummichemikalien, Azofarbstoffen und Pharmazeutika.

Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit Ethanol, Diethylether, Aceton, Benzol und organischen Lösungsmitteln. Etwas mischbar mit Wasser und Tetrachlorkohlenstoff.

Hinweise
Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln, starken Reduktionsmitteln und starken Basen.
