Descrizione
o-Xylene is widely used in the production of phthalic anhydride. It is also used in fuels as well as fuel additives. It can be used in the production of isophthalic acid and terephthalic acid. It is utilized in polyvinyl chloride production, alkyl resin and unsaturated polyester resins. It is also used as a solvent in paint, varnish, glue, printing ink, dyes and in rubber.

O-Xylol wird häufig bei der Herstellung von Phthalsäureanhydrid verwendet. Kommt auch in Kraftstoffen sowie in Kraftstoffzusätzen zum Einsatz. Kann zur Herstellung von Isophthalsäure und Terephthalsäure verwendet werden. Findet Anwendung in der Produktion von Polyvinylchlorid, Alkylharz und ungesättigten Polyesterharzen. Dient auch als Lösungsmittel für Farben, Lacke, Klebstoffe, Druckfarben, Farbstoffe und in Gummi.
Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit Ethanol und Diethylether. Nicht mit Wasser mischbar.
Hinweise
Nicht kompatibel mit Oxidationsmitteln und starken Säuren.
